Prompt Engineering

With GPT-4 now available, I am more convinced than ever that our careers will undergo significant changes in the coming years. This is a pivotal moment in history where multiple industries will be disrupted by AI. Those who learn and adapt quickly will reap the benefits.

While this is an exciting time, it can also be overwhelming to decide what to learn first and how to proceed with experiential learning.

Here is a framework that can help provide some clarity:

On a high level, AI can help you generate and create new tools using APIs. If you are not into coding, focus on the generative aspects for now. There is no substitute for curiosity.

I use the 4V framework for all things content: Verbal, Visual, Voice, and Video. With generative AI, this is key.

You can split the tech side into GPT, DALL-E, Midjourney, and Stable Diffusion. Now that you have eight elements, map them accordingly.

For example, ChatGPT and Notion AI for verbal, DALL-E and Midjourney for visual, and infographics for yet-to-be-explored opportunities. Synthesia, Invoke AI, and ControlNet for videos are some ways to chunk the learning sprints.

If you take a sprint-wise approach to deep dive into each aspect, choose the tools and skills, and learn more about the capabilities and tools in the landscape.

I am currently in my second sprint of prompt-based experiments. In just one sprint, so much has changed. Technology is moving at a blazing speed. It is time to be smart about how we learn.
