Fast vs Slow

My masterclass runs at 2x speed. I share how I think, what can be done, and open the floor for conversation. It’s efficient. High signal. Feels valuable.

But my workshop? It runs at 0.2x speed. Students slow down. Struggle. Discover on their own. It feels inefficient—until you see the IKEA effect kick in. They earned the insight. So they own it.

Same with mentorship vs coaching. In mentorship, I say what needs to be said in 5 minutes. In coaching, we arrive at the same thing in 50 minutes. Feels like time wasted—until you see the spark in their eyes. They didn’t hear it. They discovered it. That makes all the difference.

As a manager, I often see the answer. The pattern. The mistake. It’s tempting to jump in. Tell. Fix. Save time. But with people, there’s beauty in inefficiency. Telling is easy. Learning is slow. Strategic patience isn’t just a leadership skill—it’s a human one.

AI listens fast. Executes perfectly. My inner control freak loves it. But the compassionate part of me? It knows that with people, the slowness is the point.

It’s always a balance. Between speed and soul.
