Next is Now - TedX

Next is Now, and it begins with what we choose today

When the TEDx team asked me to speak, I reflected on what I’ve always known as a designer. The next big thing isn’t out there in the distance. It’s here, quietly forming in the choices we make, the routines we build, the tools we embrace, and the values we carry.

In my talk, I explored three seemingly simple but deeply human anchors that have helped us navigate every era of disruption:

🌱 Boredom – not as a problem to fix, but as a creative spark we’ve forgotten how to honor
🤖 Machines – not as threats, but as amplifiers of our deepest human intent
🫱🏽‍🫲🏼 Connection – not just networks, but true human bonds that move ideas and people forward

As a designer, I’ve seen this again and again.
Clarity comes when we pause. Calmness emerges when we return to what doesn’t change.
And real momentum builds when we act not from urgency, but from grounded understanding.

The world feels chaotic right now, full of change, trend shifts, and infinite noise. But underneath it all, human needs still shape everything. Even the most advanced AI or complex systems bend to the patterns of our behavior and intent.

That is why now matters more than ever.
Because what we do today, how we think, what we nurture, what we ignore, quietly builds the scaffolding for what’s next.

The next is not ahead. It is unfolding now.
Let us design it with care.

Grateful to the TEDx AnuragU team for this opportunity.
