Reject is not a reject
I cracked till the last round but got rejected in the final. Can I apply again to ServiceNow ?
That’s a classic question in my DMs over the last couple of days. My answer - more than anyone, you should apply again.
Time is a great teacher. We grow, we change, we learn. A rejection six months ago doesn’t mean the same thing today. I’m sure the process, the feedback, and the reflection taught you more than success ever could. So if you were rejected before, please DM me. I’ll personally take a look at your profile.
Interviews are tricky. Too many stars need to align for you to perform on that one day. Maybe you had a fever, maybe you didn’t sleep well, maybe something else was weighing on you. All of that affects performance. I’ve seen people get rejected by one org and turn out to be the perfect fit for mine. I’ve even joked that I should send chocolates and roses to the leader who rejected them because I got lucky.
That’s why I believe we should take rejections with a pinch of salt. I always cribbed about how one exam could determine my whole future. I wish it were more like continuous assessment instead of a single shot.
So let’s leave the past where it belongs. Today is a fresh look at who you are and what you bring. And that might just be the right fit.
