Sensibowl Success Story
Yet another success story in Sensibowl 🥳
We still have 6 more weeks to go for the cohort to reach completion and I can't wait to see what last minute dopamine junkies like me will do 🤪 For folks who are hearing Sensibowl for the first time, the backstory is pinned in the first comment 🤓
Metabolic health is an epidemic of our times. Our healthcare system is not ready to handle the onslaught of what is coming our way. What we need is behavioural change and a community that fosters belonging and betterment every single day. We do not need more diets and more gyms.
Adherence to first principles is the single key marker of success. You can be in Keto or Paleo or vegetarian or vegan or gluten Free or whatever diet and get healthy. When you adhere to the diet and be sensible about the intake, you will lose weight as diet is the bed rock of weight loss. The reason why any diet will work is, no diet ever said eat donuts, drink soda, eat preservatives & chemicals etc. All diets say, eat healthy. It is not what you eat, it is what you don't eat makes all the difference. I can say this with more confidence now after experimenting with every diet on the planet for the past 8.5 years and taking people along with me in pockets.
As a student of behavioural science, I feel we are stepping into a new era of health where life science helps you 20% and behavioural science helps you 80%. No wonder our doctors, nutritionists and physical trainers are not able to help us with metabolic health for the long term.
It is not about prescribing a diet plan and exercise routine, it is about staying with the person with the ups and downs of everyday life and making sure the diet/movement is taken care. When life happens, emotional health goes down and we reach out to that bag of chips or cookies and TV remote. A week's worth of healthy eating goes for a toss with that one binge watch night. We keep breaking compounding and then wonder why we can't lose the weight or keep the lost weight off 🤷♀️
Personally, this year and parts of next year for me is all about bringing back health and writing the damn book! If I can get healthy in my current avatar, you don't have an excuse to stay unhealthy.
Especially women who are dreading menopause 😉 We got this!
