A reminder for YOU

I don’t know who wants to hear this today.

I met my classmate this week who is a wonderful student, a dotted mother, an amazing partner, a lovely daughter and an awesome person overall. She was telling me how time is flying and she has no time for her health, career, hobbies etc. I feel her void. I empathise what it means to sacrifice self for others. I see my mother doing it even today. I am very grateful to receive all the support and care.

It made me think what advice I would give my young women fraternity.

Investing in YOU is the best investment out there.

• Investing in your learning.

• Investing in your health.

• Investing in your career.

• Investing in your financial independence.

• Investing in your hobbies.

• Investing in your travel.

• Investing in your guilty pleasures.

• Investing in relationships that enable you.

• Investing in tools that save your time and energy.

Don’t get me wrong. I am not against you taking care of your family and commitments. All I am saying is prioritise you and the rest will take care of itself in that boundary.

Remember, you are the only person who will travel with you till you drop dead and everyone else (parents, spouses, children, friends, bosses and pets) will fade away in different points. Something to consider.
