New Year, New You!
As we step into 2025, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the flood of advice on goal-setting, anti-goals, systems, frameworks, review templates and resolutions.
But here's a fundamental truth from cognitive science: your thoughts and your actions are separate. What truly matters is what you do, not what you intended to do.
Here is how I keep myself sane year after year.
Focus on daily actions across four pillars of well-being:
1. Mind & Body
2. Learning & Growth
3. Experiences & Investments
4. Connections & Conversations
Choose one goal for each pillar and turn it into a project. Name it, own it. For instance, "BMI25" for reaching a BMI of 25. Limit yourself to four projects max for the year. Remember: do less, but better.
Create a system to track your progress daily. I call mine growth 365.
I use "G365" - because what gets measured, gets improved. Seeing your progress (or lack thereof) every day is a powerful motivator.
Time is your most precious resource. Use it as a boundary, not an excuse. Work within it, not against it.
This approach has given me incredible returns over the past five years, with 2024 being the most transformative yet. By focusing on actions rather than thoughts or feelings, I have gained lots - wisdom, health, networth, network and more.
You don't have to reinvent the wheel. Feel free to use my frameworks and systems to make your 2025 count. Here's to a year of meaningful action and tangible growth!
