We did it! Together, we lost about 180+ pounds in less than 180 days 🔥 194 pounds in 120 days to be precise.
In October 2023, 20 of us embarked on a weight loss journey. Half of us reached our first milestone of losing approximately 10% of our body mass within 180 days.
A typical participant in Sensibowl (my book/program name) is a knowledge worker with a busy work week and a lazy/relaxed social weekend. They often work long hours, get little sleep, have limited physical activity, and frequently eat out. While they understand the principles of weight loss, they struggle to put them into practice. In other words, there is a significant gap between their intentions and actions.
I fit this description perfectly. To assist people like myself, I delved deep into the realms of metabolic health, longevity, mental and physical fitness, and their interconnections.
A decade ago (specifically in 2015), I began a long-term study on metabolic health before it was even called that. After numerous experiments, I developed an actionable framework based on first principles of health and principles of design. Regardless of gender, blood type, lifestyle, or life stage, this framework ought to work for anyone who applies it and acts on it – if it's based on atomic truth, it should be effective for everyone.
I have collected sufficient data to assert that it takes less than 500 days to rebuild health even after 10,000+ days of metabolic negligence/abuse. I took up this problem statement purely out of love for life sciences and behavioural sciences.
I've reached a point where metabolic health can be understood as a matter of math, logic, and rational system design rather than something mystical or genetically predetermined. My book details my lived experiences as a system designer.
I began writing my book while simultaneously working to restore my health from a low point, as part of an experiment. Experiment details in first comment. The book is set to be published in May 2025.
I gave myself a 500-day timeline to regain my health. Last September, around my birthday, I chose to share the gift of metabolic health with our community. I selected 20 members with a BMI greater than 35, and with more than three off-kilter metabolic markers. The rest is history for the data speaks for itself. We did it the fun way using loss aversion as a base principle.
I am happy to write a series on this topic if it garners interest. Although I usually don't discuss these subjects on LinkedIn, seeing as it's a professional network, I've noticed that 1 out of 3 people are dealing with metabolic disorders in our times. Therefore, it might be important to bring up here 🤷♀️
