The joy of just writing and not worrying about anything else
Six years ago, I embarked on a journey that would transform my life, one word at a time. Inspired by Seth Godin's wisdom, I committed to daily writing. It seemed simple enough - just like brushing teeth, right? Little did I know the rollercoaster ride that awaited me.
At first, it was exhilarating. Words flowed, ideas blossomed. But soon, the cracks began to show.
Where should I publish? Instagram? LinkedIn? My own blog? The options were dizzying, and I found myself spread thin, trying to be everywhere at once. It was exhausting, and worse, it felt inauthentic.
Then came the identity crisis. Was I a writer? A blogger? An influencer? The labels felt both alluring and suffocating. I watched others build personal brands with ease, while I grappled with who I really was in this digital landscape.
Platforms came and went. Ghost seemed perfect until it wasn't. The pressure to grow an audience, to avoid the dreaded 'churn', began to overshadow the joy of writing itself. My words, once a source of liberation, now felt like shackles.
But here's the thing about writing every day - it forces you to confront yourself, to dig deep and find your truth.
And slowly, amidst the chaos of 600,000 words in total, clarity emerged. I realized I'm not a label. I'm just Karthi, sharing my learnings. And that's enough.
Today, I'm excited to share the new avatar of https://karthis.blog/ 🥳
Thank you Arjun Phlox for crafting it with care, capturing my essence and boldly stripping away all unnecessary bells and whistles.
This space is more than a blog—it's a testament to authenticity and simplicity. Here, my daily musings will live alongside future works, free from the pressure of metrics or labels.
As I reflect on this six-year odyssey, I'm grateful for the clarity gained. Here's to writing not for perfection, but for the joy of showing up, day after day, just as we are 🥂
P.S: WILT is what I learnt today 😉
