Why Write when I could Draw or Film?
In an era where a picture is worth a thousand likes, I choose to wield the power of the written word. Daily.
Why write when I could draw or film? It's simple:
1. Immediacy: Thoughts to text, unfiltered and raw.
2. Clarity: Complex ideas, precisely articulated.
3. Efficiency: One focused session, meaningful content produced.
Yes, visuals are easy on the eyes, and videos can be captivating. But they demand time, preparation, and resources that writing doesn't. As a designer, I could create visuals, but organizing a carousel or preparing for a video shoot? That's a different beast altogether.
The trade-off? Perhaps a smaller audience. But it's a price I gladly pay for the invaluable daily practice of honing my thoughts through writing.
Writing is the bedrock of all content. A solid script makes translation to other formats seamless. It all begins with clarity of thought and cogency of words - the rest is skillful interpretation.
In the coming weeks, I'm planning an experiment: transforming an old post into visual or video format. It's a way to explore different styles while staying true to my daily writing commitment. Who knows? It might reveal new dimensions to my ideas.
But at its core, nothing matches the raw power and efficiency of writing. It's immediate, it's real, and it's my chosen path of daily expression.
In a world clamoring for our attention with flashy graphics and viral videos, there's a quiet revolution happening. One word at a time.
